Shawn Morgenlander - Swing u/s
Shawn Morgenlander graduated from Northwestern University and has since been furthering her education in the subjects that really matter: Argentine tango, stage swordplay, and chocolate history, to name a few. She particularly enjoys singing and Shakespeare and combinations of the two. Shawn played the Nurse in Rabid Bat Theatricals' Romeo and Juliet at Moody's Pub, and she is pleased as punch to be making summertime magic with this merry band once again.
Deanalis Resto (Shaina Trencher/ Narrator 6)
Deanalís Resto is approaching her two year anniversary as a Chicago theatre-maker. She was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania and earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College in Upstate NY. Since coming to Chi, she has worked with Teatro Luna, Buzz 22, The Scarlet S Project, and Gorilla Tango Burlesque, but the core of her work in Chicago has been with For Youth Inquiry (FYI), the arts-based program of the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health (ICAH). Along with other FYI actors and cadre members, Deanalís performs participatory plays for youth about sexual health and sexual violence and works to infuse theatre practices into reproductive justice advocacy for youth. "Many thanks to this enchanting company of artists for making my first outdoor theatrical adventure so memorable and magical."
Jon Schneidman (Joseph/ Narrator 9)
Jon Schneidman is a musician and actor trying to do a thing in this beautiful city of ours. Recently, you may have seen him on stage at the Mercury Theatre, the Chicago Children's Theatre, or at various dive bars that have little-to-no air-conditioning around Chicago. You also may have heard his work with Lookingglass Theatre or Red Tape Theatre in their Steppenwolf Garage Rep production. He is super psyched to be working with Rabid Bat. He likes them a lot and is having a great time making this play happen. Special thanks to Mr. Tomaselli.
Alex Tey (Edgar Trencher/ Narrator 5)
Alex Tey is a Chicago-based actor, director, and teaching artist. TPtM&tRB might be Alex's first outing with Rabid Bat, but sharp-eyed fans may recognize his handiwork in RB's bat-tastic logo! He was last onstage in Filament Theatre's Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Portage Park, his work was last onstage in The Great Superhero Exposition, the 2015 Spring Youth Circus at Actor's Gymnasium, and he was last seen teaching theatre at two different summer camps in Evanston to students 7-14 (Actor's Gym and Mudlark Theater Company). He is also very proud of the work he does with For Youth Inquiry and the Illinois Caucus of Adolescent Health developing new participatory theatre experiences for youth around sexual health and sexuality. Oh, and don't tell anyone, but he is also Spider-Man.
